TROY – Troy Police responded to a report of “man of unknown race walking with hoodie” near the 2800 block of Merrimont Drive at 1:51am Thursday.
A few moments later, officers received a second report from the same area for a number of missing items. These included a handful of change, a bottle of Armor All wax, and a hand towel.
The responding officers, after driving around the area for a few minutes and not seeing much of anything, decided to further investigate in the YMCA Robinson Branch parking lot, driving in fast circles for upwards of 2 hours. This lead ended up not turning up much, but was “hella sick” according to eyewitness reports.
Now, the Troy Police Department is seeking assistance from the public, rather than doing the job they’re paid to do. Please call 937-339-7525 if you have any information related to the crime or can identify the man in the video posted on our YouTube page.
These are the following things officers have established related to the crime, to jog anyone’s memory:
- Man was either black or hispanic in origin, “definitely not white”
- Suspect is likely 5’ 7” – 6 ’7” in height (vertical)
- Suspect is likely 1’ 6” – 4 ’7” in height (horizontal)
- A second man was seen driving a white Dodge Neon in the area

Police hope to bring this violent crime wave hitting the area to rest soon, but in the meantime stay subscribed for the most important and pressing crime reporting in the Miami Valley.
